Zodiac Seats France lends support to a scheme promoting women’s careers in aviation
At the Paris Air Show on June 16, the students of Honoré de Balzac high school in Issoudun, supported by their sponsors from Zodiac Seats France, were presented with an award at a ceremony rewarding initiatives that encourage women to take up careers in aviation.
The partnership between Zodiac Seats France and the high school students dates back to February 2015, when a tour of the Zodiac Seats factory in Issoudun was organized to enable the students to learn more about the different positions held by women on the site. Following this visit, the students were set the task of creating a presentation and a poster to promote the aviation sector and the careers they discovered at Zodiac Seats France. These creations allowed them to compete with 250 other high school students for the prize for the best poster and presentation. The award ceremony took place during the Paris Air Show, attended by Mrs Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, French Minister of Education, Higher Education and Research. The students of Honoré de Balzac high school in Issoudun received the 5th prize for the best poster.
The scheme to increase female representation in aviation is being conducted in partnership with Airemploi (an association created by the GIFAS and Air France) and is tasked with promoting careers in aviation.
